This tutorial will guide you through the process of creating alerts in the BoostBackup service. Before you begin, ensure that you have at least one asset created. An asset can be a monitored server, a backup setting, or a set up health-check.
Prerequisites
Ensure that you have at least one asset created in the BoostBackup service. Assets can be:
- Monitored Servers
- Backup Settings
- Health-checks
Steps for Creating an Alert
1. Navigate to the Alerts Section
In the BoostBackup admin panel, look for the Alerts section in the left menu and click on it.
2. Add a New Alert
Click on the "Add Alert" button located in the Alerts section. This will open up a form for creating the alert.
3. Choose an Asset
The form will change based on selected options. First, you need to choose an asset:
Each asset type has its own tutorial for detailed setup instructions.
4. Configure Alert Settings
After selecting the asset, configure the alert settings. One important setting is to choose how many times the specified condition should occur before sending a notification to your contacts.
For options like Health-checks, the frequency set in the settings is also taken into account. For example, if you have set the frequency to every five minutes and chosen that the alert should occur three times before notification, it will notify you after a total of 15 minutes (3x5). More info about frequency settings can be found here.
5. Choose Notification Contacts
In the last step, choose which contacts will be notified. For more information on how to create and manage alert contacts, click here.
