How to set up log file monitoring

Steps to Set Up Log File Monitoring:

  1. Access BoostBackup Dashboard: Log in to your BoostBackup account.
  2. Navigate to Servers Section: On the left menu, click on Servers.
  3. Select Your Server: Find the server you want to monitor and click on Info & Edit.
  4. Configure Log File Paths: In the server modal window, locate the section labeled The full path to the log files you want to monitor.
  5. Enter Log File Paths: Enter the full paths to the log files you wish to monitor. You can enter multiple paths with clicking on + button. You can enter for example:
    /var/www/logs/access.log, /var/www/logs/apache.log, /var/www/logs/error.log
    Adjust the paths according to your server's log file locations.
  6. Save Changes: After entering the log file paths, click on Save to apply the changes.
  7. Monitor Log Data: BoostBackup will intelligently send data from these log files to their system every minute.
  8. View Log Data: Once data is collected, you can view it in the Details & Logs section of the BoostBackup dashboard.

Data Presentation:

BoostBackup presents log data in two ways:

  • Raw Data: You can view the last records and get an overview of the logs directly.
  • Structured Table Data: If available, BoostBackup presents data in a structured table format. This allows you to search, sort, filter, and perform other operations on your log data efficiently.
